Choosing our Relationship to the World

Life itself is constantly teaching us, guiding us, being us, breathing us, sensing us. We need to be in open, wondrous, curious, heart listening, honoring, celebrative relationship to Life including Nature and Other beings (our external environment) and our internal landscape (all aspects of Self). How we relate to Life determines our quality of life every moment.

If we feel a victim to circumstances of Life, we are saying that something outside of us has total power over us and we are not an active participant in co-creating Life. We are therefore not in right relationship to Self…we are saying that we are not one with the Universe and we are not a divine being made of stardust…we are separating our Self from Source with our thoughts. We are also not honoring Life itself as the great teacher, we are not trusting that the Universe is giving us an opportunity to grow as a human being…we are in effect saying, “No this is not what’s supposed to be happening Life. I know what is supposed to happen here.” We are saying that we know more about the way our Life should be then Life itself. That is an example of an old childhood survival strategy that is clearly not serving us any longer. As a child that maybe got us the attention of our Mommy that we wanted but now it is leaving us empty, disconnected, and powerless.

Another way of being is to be in relationship to the part of our Self (possibly called the Wounded Child) who feels like a victim and allow him/her to fully feel and express the emotion of sadness or despair or fear or whatever it is. Then ask that part of self, “what do you need right now? Tell me how you are feeling.” Truly listen and acknowledge this part of self. Tell him/her you love him/her very much and are always here to care of him/her. Let him/her know that Life is presenting us with an opportunity to grow and evolve more fully into who we truly are. Start to shift the way you are relating to this experience Life has presented to you. The Universe is gifting you an experience so that you can develop on your path. From this perspective what might the Universe be showing you about yourself? What is the gift of this experience? What is possible from this place?

So we are not denying that there is pain or sadness due to an experience…conversely we are honoring our feelings fully and expressing them. After fully being in our body emoting, honoring the part of our self that feels the emotion and letting that part know that we are here to care for him/her, we can then choose the perspective that empowers our whole Self, that honors the infinite divine being that we are and that Life is- we come into true relationship with inner and outer world.

Global Transformation of Human Consciousness

There is something alive inside of me that is screaming to be birthed into the world. It is this passion, this fire bubbling forth from the core of the Earth. The Earth is dreaming through me and it is calling me forth to be so much bigger than my ego knows me to be. It is calling for a social revolution, for a global transformation of human consciousness. We must change the way we BE in the world.

I feel myself to be a somewhat awake, conscious, evolved human being. And I am still part of a system that is destroying our world, taking down billions of beings, and ultimately wiping out ourselves. I have centered my life around helping others to awake to who they truly are and yet there is still part of me that is trying to grow my private practice, to make money for myself, so I can live the “good” life. Most of us are still entranced by the need to make money for ourselves and our family and to acquire more stuff. Every time we buy something we have contributed and supported the entire line of production and transportation that it took to come into that store.

I have an inquiry to myself right now…how am I called to have the most impact on the global transformation of human beings on this planet? Coaching, for me, is about shifting consciousness, aligning with true self, finding ultimate purpose in life. I believe that is what is called for right now and it is called for on a large scale and I am feeling some urgency to it. This wave of awakening is happening and I pray we will shift soon enough before we make our planet inhospitable to us. I believe we must all take responsibility for our part in this shift. What more could I be doing? Some thoughts for me: speaking to many people at a time…large workshops…working for a social change organization like Pachamama Alliance…walking the Earth BEING the change I want to see in the world! What more could you be being/doing????

Your True Nature

Real joy and inner wealth is attained when you find what you came here to give to the world. You and only you can give this special present to our world and by doing so you live a life of such deep, profound meaning, that the world will never be the same again. You are here to be that which has never been ever before in the history of the universe…your True Nature. That is how incredibly special you are…you are a precious gift to this amazing universe.

It takes tremendous courage and resilience to honor this calling that bursts forth from the depths of your being. You have to be willing to not be understood by your family, friends, and colleagues. You have to be willing to not follow the rules and voices of society, the media, and your Inner Critic. But instead to follow that soft, inner voice inside of you that beckons you to express your greatness. You have the choice to turn your back on that voice but it will haunt you always in the darkness of the night. For once you know what you are here to do on this Earthly plane, you ignite a fire in yourself that can never go out. It’s like in “The Matrix” when you take the red pill and see the world the way it truly is, you can never pretend to be ignorant again.

You are going to be pulled to face your fears, to challenge your assumptions and beliefs, to overcome obstacles. It is not a comfortable little ride but a tremendous journey of truth, courage, vision, and freedom. Step up for yourself, for the world, for Life itself and say yes to your deepest purpose. Embark on your own personal journey to your highest self and enjoy the single greatest ride in existence.

Love ALL Parts of Yourself

We tend to scour the world looking for love…through new experiences, other people, our pets. Where we first need to find love is in ourselves. We can be our own harshest critic. We don’t let ourselves get away with anything…”that was a dumb thing to say” or “I’m such an idiot” is often part of our internal dialogue. These voices of our Inner Critic really get in the way of loving our self. So you might think that we need to get rid of this Inner Critic and push it away. It seems that what we resist, persists and that doesn’t work well. We are actually being unloving towards a part of our self. We are disowning a part of self, the Inner Critic, and it doesn’t like that and starts yelling even louder.
So one way that I have found very helpful in learning to love myself more is to embrace ALL parts of me….and there are a whole bunch of parts. This is all based off of Roger Strachan’s work called Parts Work. For me, there is my Worrier, Perfectionist, 5 year old boy, and Warrior of Freedom just to name a few. There is also the True Self, which is comprised of all the different parts. So each part is a part of the True Self. Each has its own personality and way of seeing the world. Your face and body actually change depending on which part you are identified with in that moment. When you are identified with a certain part, that part actually believes it is the True Self and the only thing that matters and you are run by it. The goal is to notice which part is present and know that you are so much more than that part. You are the True Self, the voice of truth and reason, the wise elder, the part that hears all the others. Through dialoguing with my parts (yes I talk to myself) I have discovered that each one wants to be heard, to be understood, and to be loved.
So imagine that the True Self is the president and all the other parts are your cabinet members. It is the True Self’s job to listen to all the parts and honor them as unique and sacred. They all have an important message for you and they want to convey that. Each part is trying to communicate what is true for them. So each part has a truth but it is only part of the truth. As the True Self you listen to the parts with love and compassion and wisdom. Then the True Self as President gets to decide what he/she wants to do.
I want to add that the Worrier actually plays an integral part in my survival. If I never worried I would fall right off a cliff. So the Worrier needs to be listened to AND as True Self you get to decide consciously what you agree with and what you don’t.
Example: My Worrier is trying to tell me something…I may know this by feeling anxiety in my body. When I feel that anxiety, I am identified with the Worrier and not being the True Self. My mind may be racing saying, “you’re gonna fail, its not gonna work out, don’t even try.” First step is to be aware that the Worrier is present. Then you want to objectify the Worrier by acknowledging its presence, “I hear you and I love you and what are you trying to communicate to me Worrier?” “This might not work and we don’t want to fail so lets not try.” “Ok, thank you for your opinion, I am aware of that possibility and I have decided to go for it anyway.”
The key here is objectifying the part. When you do that, instead of being the Worrier, you zoom out to being the Witness (True Self) of the Worrier. You draw power away from the Worrier, which helps to relieve the anxiety, and you get to stand in your power as the True Self.
This powerful way of being with yourself is work that we can do together in a much deeper and more all-encompassing way. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. Be a unified self and love ALL parts of you. It feels so much better to love my Worrier then to hate him because it doesn’t feel good to hate part of myself.

Your Purpose in Life

Your purpose in life can be absolutely anything. It comes from that quiet voice inside of you, the voice of your true self. If you can calm down your mind, possibly through meditation, yoga, spending time in the peace of nature or whatever helps you, and just listen to that internal guide that is purely about your highest good and the highest good of the universe, you can hear messages. Ask yourself what is the highest vision for my life? And see what that voice reveals to you. Check what you hear with your body. Do you feel more alive, excited, inspired, tingling? Or do you feel drained, zapped of energy, stagnant? That’s a good check to see if your Inner Critic stepped in and is masquerading as the voice of your true self.

Your purpose in life uplifts you and compels you. You are so excited by it. It is why you are here on this Earth at this time! It is your unique expression of truth. As Michael Beckwith says, “you did not come here to get anything from the world…you came here to find what is uniquely yours and offer it TO the world!” You came here to add your special imprint upon the world. So what are you waiting for!? Express yourself! Be your authentic self! Stop waiting for the world to give you permission to be YOU! Don’t let anyone (or any voice in your head) stand in your way of your greatest existence! This is your time on Earth to be exactly who you are!

If you don’t know who you are lets find that incredible, beautiful being together! Lets remove all the clutter that is masking your True Nature! Your unbelievable, joyous, fulfilling, passionate life is waiting for you to take a stand for it and believe in it!

What do you truly care about? What are your values? Not societies collective values! Your own unique beliefs about the world. Your vision of how you want the world to be! You get to walk in that vision if you just choose it with conviction and don’t let anybody tell you that it’s impossible because they don’t see what you see, they don’t know what you know, they are not YOU! As you step into that reality by BEING your vision, you are creating it moment by moment. You don’t attract what you want in life, you attract WHO YOU ARE! As Gandhi says, “BE the change you want to SEE in the world!”

I want you to know that I believe in you no matter what you think about yourself. I truly know in my heart that you are powerful beyond measure. You are an amazing exceptional expression of Life! I deeply and completely love and honor you. I send inner peace, joy and fulfillment straight from me to you.

What are you tolerating in your life?

Why do we tolerate so much in our lives? We tolerate going to a job everyday we don’t like, not feeling free in our relationships, people being rude to us, a monotonous existence of work, eat, sleep, work, eat, etc. I believe we tolerate this because we don’t realize we have a choice in the matter. We feel like the world is just happening to us and aren’t aware that we are causing all of it. Its actually all happening inside of your body and your mind. The world is going along and you are reacting to it. You have a choice in your reactions if you could just be aware that you do in the moment. So how do you empower yourself to choose your reaction?

You could shift perspectives and feel a whole different way. You could get in touch with what your authentic truth is and speak it to the world and change may occur. You could choose to leave the situation. With all these possibilities why do we often just stay stuck in the situation? First we have to be aware. Then we have to realize that there is a part of ourselves that I call the Inner Critic that just wants us to be comfortable and complacent and not do anything different. Inner Critic = Ego = the part of us that is all about survival and none about thriving in life and growth. For example, imagine you are in a relationship not feeling free. You may have a thought that “if you say anything she may leave you and you will be all alone and pathetic.” Now you have to realize that you don’ t need to accept that thought as truth. A great way to be aware when the Inner Critic is present is to journal about it. What does it look like? Sound like? Feel like? You may draw a picture of it. You get very clear about the Inner Critic so that when it comes around you notice it so that instead of BEING the Inner Critic and believing its thoughts, you can objectify it, which drains it of its power. Whenever you give yourself a choice in how you react you empower your self and disempower the Inner Critic.

Enlightenment Movement

I am a leader in the spreading of the movement of all movements. This is spreading the blossoming of enlightenment in all human beings on this planet. Right now it is happening…one conversation at a time, one book, one dvd, one yoga class, one healing ritual, one dream, one vision, one transformed thought, one meditation sitting, one breath, one moment, One. Becoming one with yourself…being and aligning with the truth of who you really are and freely expressing yourself to the world. When you live your life from this place then the world and your life become the great utopia that we are all seeking here on this planet.

It is the realization of oneness. It is the feeling of oneness. We are all One. We are individualized expressions of the same One source of all that is. All our senses that differentiate everything are useful for navigating in the physical world but they are not the ultimate truth. Underlying it all we are connected, we are the same. When we realize this, we unconditionally love each other, each animal, each plant, each rock, each droplet of water, each planet, each star, each space, each moment just because we are.

And we celebrate! We throw a party and feel a euphoric joy simply for being here. We are grateful for each moment, for each person, for each thing simply because it is. We don’t need any reason to feel happy…it is just our natural state.

And this realization inside of yourself, this alignment and at-one-ment changes the way you are in the world. It is a BEING state. When you live your life in this state you live an inspired life and allow your true self to guide you.

It changes the way that we all interact with each other. When two people who are aligned with their highest self look in each others eyes, they can just cry at the unbelievable, overwhelming joy and love that is felt and exchanged. They both know that they are one and therefore the most powerful unconditional love flows like a raging river. It is the most awesome powerful experience and it can be the way we are with each other all the time! We just need to wake up from our trance!

We can all become enlightened. It is not just for Jesus or Buddha. It is a state of BEING that we have all felt in fleeting moments of pure joy. When we are playing a sport and are in the zone. When we are in nature just breathing and listening to the world and experience a oneness with the Earth. When we are making love and look into each other’s eyes and know that we are one. When people do drugs they are chasing that experience of oneness and joy but it is very fleeting.

I am here to tell you that this state of Enlightened BEINGness can be created no matter what the external conditions are. You do not need anything external to get there and by believing that your joy is outside of yourself you give all of your power away. Sustained joy becomes unattainable simply because of that belief that it is outside of you. You are a generative being. You create any conditions you want inside of your body. So why not create utopia?

We naturally want to be happy and love each other so what gets in our way? Ego, inner critic, inner gremlin, satan…it goes by many names but is all the same. It is the voice inside of us that spouts fear, limitation, and lack. It yells insults like you are not worthy of love, you are too stupid, you are too old, you can’t, it is impossible, nobody likes you, you hate yourself. It tells you lies and the worst lie of all is that it disguises itself as you. You believe this voice is really you, but it is not.

Another voice inside of you is your true inner voice. At first it is just a whisper. It is overshadowed by the loudness of your gremlin, the loudness of the world and the collective media constantly trying to grab your attention and steer it away from your own unique voice of your highest self. That is why you must grab hold of the reins of your attention. So that you consciously choose what you place your attention on. The attention that is you, as you, is the infinite awareness of the One source of all that is. It is the same force, the same focused energy that creates worlds and it is YOU! That is how powerful you are…you are infinitely powerful!

So one reason we meditate is to quiet down the inner critic and the voice of society so that we can hear our own voice. Our true highest self naturally comes shining through to the surface. This is what I mean by aligning with who we really are. From this place we feel and become what we really are…peace, freedom, joy, unconditional love, infinite abundance, openness, gratitude, ONE

So how can we generate and sustain this feeling and this state of enlightenment? We must live in line with who we truly are. We must take time to meditate or quiet down and calm down. That could be yoga, massage, walking in the woods, or taking a bath. We must stop believing thoughts and thereby doing actions that are not in line with our true self. We need to align ourselves with who we are! That is what I do with you. I help you to align with who you truly are so that you live your life in a state of enlightenment. Just as the sun awakens the world from sleep, this movement spreads around the globe waking people up to their true nature.
